About My Hope

The first child which we have registered to this site we gave the ID 37000000. This is because there are an estimated 37 000 000 orphans in South Africa. Almost 57 per cent of the population are living in poverty and an estimated 50 000 children die each year from malnutrition or other diseases that would be curable with adequate medical care. Our main goal is to provide homes, food, clothing and education to the "Street Kids" in South Africa. There are many children who choose to live on the streets, rather than at home with their families because of the unbearable abuse and violence they have to endure at home. Because it is difficult to monitor where the funds are going to with projects such as this, we have allied with the local Child Welfare Organisation which is in dire need of funding. We are starting with a few children in a local "communal foster care home" in the "location" here in Hermanus where we can monitor the funds. Funding is still underway to build another such home as there are many children still in need of care. MyHope is here to change children's lives - not just an aspect of their lives. By sponsoring a child for a year you are changing their living environment - helping to provide a loving, caring and stable home environment for them. They will have clothes to wear - blankets during the winter and be given an education. You can make a difference. To one child. Please browse through our Gallery where you will see canvases with a hand-print by various children in need of homes. If you would like to learn more about a specific child, please click on "Read More" where there is additional information about him/her. Because of Child Protection Rights we are not allowed to publish photos of the children and their names have been changed.

The images you see throughout the site are from the annual RDP Christmas party held in Zwelihle. Please click on the "RDP Christmas Party" link to learn more about this.

The canvases in the "Gallery" are a piece of art by the individual child in question. By purchasing this canvas you are sponsoring the child for a year.

All payments are made directly to Child Welfare. We do not deal with any money.
